Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

PactScout (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our contract analysis service at pactscout.com.

Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in via Google OAuth, we receive your name and email from Google — we do not receive or store your Google password.

Uploaded Documents: When you upload a contract for analysis, we process the document text to provide risk analysis. We do not permanently store the full text of your contracts. Analysis results (risk scores, clause summaries, and metadata such as file name, file size, and contract type) are stored in your account so you can revisit them.

Usage Data: We collect basic usage metrics such as the number of analyses performed, timestamps, and feature usage to improve our service.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the PactScout service, process your contract analyses, manage your account and usage limits, communicate important service updates, and ensure security and prevent abuse.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate PactScout, including AI processing providers, cloud database and authentication services, and hosting infrastructure. Contract text is sent to an AI provider for analysis — we send only the text necessary for analysis. Your account data and analysis results are stored securely with row-level access controls. Our hosting provider may collect standard web analytics (page views, performance metrics).

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), row-level database security ensuring users can only access their own data, secure authentication protocols, and rate limiting on API endpoints.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your account data and analysis history are retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at support@pactscout.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, request a copy of your data, withdraw consent for data processing, and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

By accessing or using PactScout, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

Service Description

PactScout is an AI-powered contract risk analysis tool. You upload contracts, and our system uses artificial intelligence to identify potential risks, flag important clauses, and provide negotiation suggestions.

Not Legal Advice

PactScout is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Our AI analysis is intended for informational and educational purposes only. It should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional legal counsel. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified attorney for any legal decisions related to contracts.

User Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account with others or create multiple free accounts to circumvent usage limits.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use PactScout to upload illegal, fraudulent, or malicious content, attempt to reverse-engineer or exploit our AI systems, circumvent rate limits or usage restrictions, or resell or redistribute our analysis results as a competing service.

Usage Limits

Each plan has defined usage limits (number of analyses per month, file size limits). These limits reset monthly. We reserve the right to modify plan limits with reasonable notice.

Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to the contracts you upload. PactScout retains rights to the analysis format, methodology, and software. We do not claim ownership of your uploaded documents.

Limitation of Liability

PactScout is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any decisions made based on our AI analysis, errors or omissions in the analysis results, or any damages arising from the use of our service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@pactscout.com.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of PactScout after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site function properly and provide information to the site owners.

Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies: These are required for PactScout to function. They include authentication session cookies that keep you logged in, and security tokens that protect against cross-site request forgery.

Analytics Cookies: We use analytics tools to collect anonymous usage data such as page views, load times, and general geographic region. This helps us improve performance and user experience. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics cookies.

Third-Party Cookies

If you sign in via a third-party authentication provider (such as Google), that provider may set cookies as part of the authentication process. These are governed by the provider's own privacy and cookie policies.
